Several Marketing Derby Bondholders have been shortlisted for awards organised by East Midlands Chamber which recognise and celebrate the region’s young talent.

The Generation Next Awards are one of the biggest events in the annual calendar for the network of young professionals run by the chamber in conjunction with headline partner the University of Derby .

Shortlists for the 12 categories which make up the awards 2024 were recently revealed.

Bondholders feature heavily, with Jamie Quince-Starkey, of Down to Earth Derby, leading the way with five nominations.

He is up for the Creators and Makers Award, Entrepreneur of the Year Award, Environmental Warrior Award, Start-Up Award and Future Leader Award.

Joining Jamie in the Creators and Makers category are two staff from Purpose Media – Ollie Henderson and Alistair Bullock- alongside Morgan Jones, of Hardy Signs.

There are nominations elsewhere for Purpose Media, with the firm’s Ruby Birks vying for the Future Leader Award, alongside Samantha O’Neill from The Derby Conference Centre, and Josh Donnell contending the Innovation and Technology Award with Finn Riggott, of Cosy Direct.

Purpose Media itself is also up for the Investing in Young Talent Award.

Cosy Direct also has another nomination in the form of Lucy Hilton, who is shortlisted for the Rising Star Award – as is Scarlet McCourt, of trentbarton.

There is a brace of nominations for Joshua Leach-Aslam, of Two Chevrons Group, who earlier this year was named Marketing Derby’s Rising Star for 2024.

He is up for Entrepreneur of the Year and the Volunteering & Charitable Impact Award.

Finally, Elliot Pipes, of Sort Legal, which is part of the Sort Group, is nominated for the Customer Service Award and George Pritchard, of Scenariio is shortlisted for the Environmental Warrior Award.

Lucy Robinson, director of resources at East Midlands Chamber and Generation Next Lead Lucy Robinson said: “Once again, the standard of applications received for the Generation Next Awards has far exceeded expectation.

“Taking a look at the calibre in this year’s list of finalists gives an idea how challenging the task of shortlisting was for the judging panel.

“It’s wonderful to see the achievement of such talented young people getting the recognition they deserve.”

The winners will be crowned at an awards ceremony at Bustle Market, in Derby, on 4 July. To book tickets visit https://www.emc-dnl.co.uk/events/generation_next_awards_20243727545453/ .
