HUUB has organised a fund-raising screening of a documentary about the creator of the cult show Thunderbirds, which will raise money for QUAD and Derby County Community Trust.

Celebrating the launch of HUUB’s Thunderbirds clothing collaboration, the screening of Gerry Anderson: A Life Uncharted (2022), is set to take place at QUAD on Wednesday 29 June.

Taking place in its Sir John Hurt Cinema, the evening will also feature producer/director Benjamin Field and special guest Jamie Anderson, Gerry’s son, who will provide an insight into his father’s life.

The screening will be preceded by a VIP reception in QUAD’s gallery, with canapés and complimentary wine, and will end with a private bar.

In a statement, HUUB said: “We just love combining our pleasures with our work, and it’s this that led HUUB to work with Anderson Entertainment to bring Thunderbirds to the cycling world.

“We have been working with Jamie Anderson to bring this unique film event to Derby, which is open to all, on a first-come first-served basis.”

Gerry Anderson and his teams produced a collection of ground-breaking and internationally-loved sci-fi adventure shows and films – including Thunderbirds, Captain Scarlet, Space 1999 and Joe 90.

The documentary, which contains previously unseen and unheard interviews, explores what inspired and drove him to become such a prolific creator.
