Software company makes Cardinal Square move

A software firm behind technology which manages driver and vehicle compliance has taken space at Cardinal Square.

Licence Check, which is behind the DAVIS platform, has taken 2,300 sq ft at Nurton Developments’ Derby office scheme.

The move reflects the company’s commitment to developing greater collaboration, connection and wellbeing across its 20-strong team, many of whom work on a hybrid basis.

Licence Check, which was founded in 2008 and is now owned by parent company Ebbon Group, has been based in Derby since 2016 after initially operating in Nottingham.

The new offices have had a contemporary fit out prioritising breakout areas with comfortable and soft seating, rather than a desk heavy environment, where its tech-led teams can come together to communicate and innovate when working in the office.

Katy Holding, head of marketing at Davis Licence Check, said: “As a software-led business, our people can technically work from anywhere.

“However, we recognise the importance of having a state-of-the-art, smart enabled, high-quality, central base, which reflects our business and supports wellbeing through real, meaningful connections.

“Our previous city centre office had become dated, but we were keen to stay in Derby, being centrally located and easily accessed from across the UK.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming clients and partners to our new space, which truly reflects the kind of business we are today.”
