It may still be summer, but Derby LIVE has announced tickets are now on sale for one of the main events that will make up the city’s festive celebrations.

Plans for this year’s Festive Derby are well underway, following the success of previous festive programmes.

Tickets are now available to buy for the Babbling Vagabonds production The Christmas Toy Shop Mystery, which will run in the Market Place from Friday 9 December to Friday 30 December.

Tickets will also soon be on sale for a new-look, all-weather Market Place ice rink.

A date has been set for the Christmas lights switch-on, which will take place on Saturday 12 December.

And tickets are already on sale for Derby LIVE’s pantomime Aladdin, starring Cold Feet’s John Thomson at Derby Arena, from Friday 9 December to Saturday 31 December.

Councillor Jonathan Smale, cabinet member for finance, digital and culture at Derby City Council, said: “Our Christmas programme last year was a huge success and this year’s line-up promises to add some extra sparkle to the atmosphere in the city. It will bring a welcome boost for Derby businesses.”

Tickets for The Christmas Toyshop Mystery and the pantomime can be booked at online www.derbylive.co.uk.
