Development consultancy Faithful + Gould has joined forces with Derventio Housing Trust to offer a helping hand to those who have been through tough times in their lives.

The trust offers accommodation and support to people who have recently been made homeless, as well as specialist projects in health, employability and personal development.

It helps more than 1,100 people each year by offering housing, support and specialist projects so they improve their health and wellbeing, increase resilience and prepare for independent living, learning and employment.

Recently, participants in its Building Better Opportunities programmes were welcomed to Faithful + Gould’s Nottingham office to take part in a skills workshop day.

Those who took part were aged from 17 and over and enjoyed valuable sessions including a CV workshop, training for interviews and other teamwork and skills building activities.

The two organisations said they came together after meeting at a Marketing Derby event.

Jackie Carpenter, assistant director of strategy at Derventio, said: “The engineers gave everyone a real insight into their world, and it was a truly inspirational day.

“We are so pleased at Derventio that we were able to connect with Faithful + Gould through Marketing Derby and create this brilliant opportunity for people who really need it.”

Dan Heffernan, social value lead for Faithful + Gould, said: “At Faithful + Gould it’s very important to us that we have a real, tangible impact on the communities we serve.

“We were very excited to meet the team from Derventio and find out all about the great work they do in helping people turn their lives around from some extremely challenging situations, and get them back on their feet, in touch with families again, and often back in the workplace too.

“As a global business, with our local communities at our heart, we want to be able to pass on some of the knowledge and expertise we have gathered over 75 years of running our business, to those within our communities who really need it.

“That’s why we are very pleased and proud to have met such a worthwhile organisation through Marketing Derby and using it to reach out to people who really need us.”
