Becky tastes success with national awards shortlisting

The founder of food education and awareness business SimpliciB is celebrating after being shortlisted for awards which recognise the UK’s top businesswomen.

Becky Brown has been shortlisted in the Business Owner/s of the Year category at this year’s National Businesswomen’s Awards.

SimpliciB delivers a variety of food workshops to businesses as part of employee wellbeing.

Becky started her company three years ago during lockdown, using social media to share recipe ideas and help prevent panic buying.

It was from this that she realised there was a business opportunity, helping people understand food, buying and eating habits, allowing them to make better choices.

Speaking about her award nomination, Becky said: “I cannot begin to comprehend how many women are business owners, so to have been shortlisted is an incredible honour.

“I am absolutely thrilled to receive this acknowledgment for my business.”

The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in London on Wednesday 15 November.

Since it was founded, SimpliciB has worked with individuals, families and businesses.

Becky said: “Although I create bespoke workshops to suit my customers, I have a suite of standard workshops, which are mainly delivered to businesses, especially those who value their employees’ health and well-being.

“My most popular workshop is called Food and Mood, which explores foods and eating habits that can impact how we feel both positively and negatively.

“It is scientifically and medically proven that food has a huge impact on how we feel. I have PTSD and Border Line Personality Disorder and can first hand validate that this is true.

“Employers will lose approximately 25% of their staff’s productivity every month due to poor food choices. The burden of ill health through food is that approximately 10% of the UK has time off work.”

Since being founded SimpliciB has worked with a number of fellow Bondholders, including Colleague Box, Midland Lead and Cosy Direct.
