University set to showcase EarthScale support
The University of Derby is inviting businesses, entrepreneurs and climate tech leaders to its first EarthScale Regional Hub event.
Taking place at The Cavendish Building – home of the Derby International Business School – the 17 March session is part of a national initiative aimed at supporting IP-rich climate tech start-ups and spinouts to scale to commercialisation.
The project aims to support organisations during a 12-month programme to help them grow and scale.

Taking place from 9.30am to 3pm, there will be workshops on vital topics, networking and a variety of guest speakers including the university’s Chris Sansom, professor of concentrating solar power and theme lead for zero carbon and Professor Michael Sweet, head of the nature-based solutions research centre.
It will also feature representatives from Toyota Manufacturing UK, Rolls-Royce and Blind Screen.
University of Derby is one of six founding universities providing support via EarthScale, along with Imperial College London – who are leading on the project – Cranfield University, University of Leeds, University of Nottingham, and University of Exeter.
