Festive lights and an illuminated installations by digital artists at QUAD are set to feature as part of a National Trust property’s Christmas displays.

QUAD’s TECHSQUAD is teaming up with Calke Abbey during December to enhance the venue’s ‘Christmas at Calke’ offer.

Spectacular festive lights and illuminated installations will celebrate the uniqueness of Calke, with a giant lamp, 360-star projections, interactive shadow puppets and a willow light tunnel.

QUAD is Derby’s international centre for engagement in contemporary art and film.

Its TECHSQUAD digital artists specialise in digital development projects, including projection mapping and augmented reality.

Caroline Taylor, visitor operations and experience manager at Calke Abbey, said: “For 2022, we’re thrilled to be working with QUAD to bring more magic to the illuminations, extending the lights into the Stableyards and creating amazing moments for visitors to discover and share along the way.”

The illuminated trail will be open every weekend in December and daily during the week Monday 19 to Friday 23 December.
