HR and employment law firm Precept has bolstered its team with a brace of new appointments.

Lucy Laughton has been appointed as business development manager, while University of Derby student Fortune Ikemefua has joined the company on a temporary basis as a digital marketing specialist.

Lucy began her career working for her father, Arthur Titterton, a former solicitor and president of The Law Society.

Fortune is currently studying for his Masters degree in marketing at the University of Derby.

He moved to Derby in 2022 after studying at the Redeemers University in Nigeria and his appointment has been made possible thanks to the university’s Driven programme.

Managing director Rob Tice said: “We have gone through a period of growth recently at Precept and are delighted to welcome Lucy and Fortune to the team.

“They offer a wealth of experience and fit our ‘fresh and accessible’ approach perfectly; to do things differently with a no-nonsense attitude, and to continue to build meaningful relationships with clients and our community.”
