Marketing Peak District & Derbyshire has praised four businesses, including a pub owned by the Devonshire Group, for being named as finalists in a prestigious national tourism awards.

The Devonshire Arms at Pilsley has been shortlisted for Pub of the Year at the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence, which are regarded as the highest accolades in English tourism.

The other Derbyshire nominees are Landal Sandybrook in Ashbourne, Fischer’s Baslow Hall and Pure Outdoor.

Jo Dilley, managing director of Marketing Peak District & Derbyshire, said: “It’s a fantastic achievement to be shortlisted for these prestigious industry awards and we’re proud that the Peak District and Derbyshire is one of only two destinations to be represented by finalists in five categories.

“We’re fortunate to have many passionate tourism businesses who are dedicated to providing visitors with unforgettable experiences, and this serves as a timely reminder of the value and sheer quality of the area’s world-class tourism offer.

“I congratulate all our finalists and wish them the very best of luck.”
