Construction giant Bowmer + Kirkland is set to hold a major event in Derby for those interested in its degree apprenticeships.

The firm, which is one of the largest and most successful family-owned construction and development groups in the UK, will be holding its annual Degree Apprenticeship Open Evening at Derby Museums’ Museum of Making on Thursday 13 November.

The business has a wide range of construction related degree apprenticeships available covering numerous job roles including quantity surveying, site management, site engineering, estimating, design, mechanical, electrical and building services management.

School-leavers and their parents/carers are being invited to attend the event to gain a clear understanding of what the company’s degree apprenticeships involve, explore the range of courses on offer and speak directly with both current and past apprentices and senior staff to help students gain a clear understanding of the process and determine the best path for them.

The company’s Degree Apprenticeship Scheme is fully funded, students will earn a full-time salary, gain hands-on experience while studying for a degree and will complete their course without student debt and a professional qualification.

Emma Hibbert, commercial manager and member of Bowmer + Kirkland’s Training Board which organises the annual careers event, said: “Our Derby open evening is a hugely worthwhile event for youngsters who are leaving school or college in 2026 or 2027 and considering a career in construction.

“Bowmer + Kirkland is dedicated to training and development, supporting staff and encouraging a diverse and inclusive workforce to ensure that everyone reaches their full potential, this combined with the exciting, high-profile projects that we work on across a wide range of sectors, makes it an excellent place to work.”

Bowmer + KIrkland delivers projects across a wide number of sectors.

Successful applicants will have a chance to play a key role in construction projects across the UK and closer to home.

In Derby, the company has led the construction of Derby Arena, Moorways Sports Village and Vaillant Live.

To register attendance to the open evening contact Bowmer + Kirkland’s HR team at apprentices@bandk.co.uk by Wednesday 12 November.

Degree apprenticeship applications will be live at http://www.bandk.co.uk from Thursday 13 November and close on 31 December.
