Several Marketing Derby Bondholders have been shortlisted for the annual Enterprising Women Awards, which are organised by East Midlands Chamber.

From rising stars to established leaders, the awards recognise the best of the region’s female business talent.

Now, the finalists across 10 categories have been announced, with the winners crowned at a gala dinner to be held in Leicestershire on 20 September.

Katy Upton, of FNG, has been shortlisted for Female Entrepreneur of the Year while Blu Hardy, of Hardy Signs, is up for the Social Commitment Award.

Hannah O’Brien, of Colleague Box, is a finalist in the Female Employee of the Year category while teams from Timms Solicitors and Purpose Media will be vying for Team of the Year.

Three apprentices from Rolls-Royce will be contesting the Apprentice of the Year Award – Elena Richards, Lillie Jeffries-Williams and Manhoor Akhter.

Elena is also up for the She Who Innovates Award, while Ruby Birks, of Purpose Media, is shortlisted for the Emerging Leader Award.

Speaking about her nomination for the Social Commitment Award, Blu Hardy, marketing manager at Hardy Signs, said: “When I heard the other names in my category, I thought there would be no chance of being shortlisted, so I’m quite overwhelmed.

“To win would reaffirm the hard work I’ve done over the last year, stand me in good stead for my career and give me a massive confidence boost.”

Enterprising Women co-chair Jean Mountain said: “Year in, year out, over the years these awards have been phenomenal.

“We’ve been doing these awards for around 15 years now and the standard of entries gets higher and higher each year.

“We set the bar really high, and you see it with the fabulous names of finalists that come through and the companies they represent.”
