A number of Marketing Derby Bondholders are among the finalists for awards which recognise the best dealmakers in the region.

The shortlists for the East Midlands Dealmakers Awards 2022 have now been published by event organiser Midlands Business Insider.

And several companies will be flying the flag for the Bondholder community at the awards ceremony, which is due to take place in Nottingham on Thursday 19 May.

BDO is up for Corporate Finance Advisory Team of the Year, while Freeths and Geldards will be among the finalists fighting it out for the Corporate Law Firm of the Year title.

In the Bank of the Year category, HSBC UK and NatWest are among the nominees.

In the Deal of the Year (Under £10 million) category, Dains, Freeths and BDO are all among teams who have secured nominations.

Freeths and BDO also feature in the Deal of the Year (Above £10 million finalists) category, along with PwC, HSBC and Geldards.

Kurt Jacobs, editor at Midlands Business Insider, said: “What’s so evident from the number of nominations and finalists is that, despite huge uncertainty and an economic roller-coaster, this was a good year for mergers and acquisitions in the East Midlands.

“It’s easy to see why there have been so many finalists: this year there more than 300 individual nominations made by leading dealmakers, following for a year that saw almost 500 deals completed in the region, worth well over £3.6 billion.”
