Child exploitation charity Safe and Sound has appointed the founder and director of Gravity Digital as its newest ambassador.

Sharon Stevens-Cash will support the Derby-based charity in increasing awareness of child exploitation and extending its reach.

The organisation works to protect children and young people from exploitation, with the new appointment aimed at strengthening communications and public understanding of the issue.

Sharon said her decision to take on the role was shaped by personal experience of the impact exploitation can have on young people and families, highlighting how cases often go unrecognised.

She said: “I am incredibly proud to support Safe and Sound as an ambassador.

“The work they do to protect and support vulnerable young people is vital, and I hope to help raise awareness so that more young people feel seen, heard and able to access the support they need.”

Safe and Sound said Sharon’s appointment will support its ongoing work to improve early identification of exploitation and ensure more young people are able to access help.

Tracy Harrison, the charity’s chief executive, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Sharon as an ambassador for Safe and Sound.

“Her professional expertise, combined with her personal insight and passion for supporting young people, makes her a powerful advocate for our work.

“Sharon’s voice will help us reach more people, raise awareness and continue to protect those most at risk.”
