Distillery toasts a decade in business with major retailer deal
White Peak Distillery is raising a glass after securing a significant new listing with a national retailer for one of its whiskies.
The Derbyshire distillery has struck an agreement with Majestic Wine, which will see its award-winning Wire Works Caduro single malt whisky stocked in 20 stores across the Midlands and North West, including Derby, Chesterfield and Ashbourne.
The listing marks another milestone for the independent, family-run distillery, which this year celebrate a decade since its founding in 2016 by husband-and-wife team Max and Claire Vaughan.
Located at the former Johnson & Nephew Wire Works, in Ambergate, within the Derwent Valley Mills UNESCO World Heritage Site, White Peak Distillery has built its business around a deep commitment to provenance, heritage and flavour.
The distillery laid down its first whisky casks in 2018, with a vision to create an authentic English single malt that reflects its Derbyshire home, its rich industrial heritage and the region’s legacy of innovation and making.
Every stage of whisky production, from mashing and fermentation through to distillation, maturation and bottling, takes place onsite.
The distillery also draws on Derbyshire’s brewing heritage, using spent brewer’s yeast from Thornbridge Brewery as part of its flavour-focused whisky-making.

Wire Works Caduro is the founding expression of the distillery’s Provenance Core Range, combining whisky matured in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels and ex-red wine STR casks.
The whisky has its roots in White Peak’s inaugural single malt release in February 2022 and has since earned international recognition, including Gold medals at the International Wine & Spirit Competition and the Tokyo Whisky & Spirits Competition.
Most recently, Caduro was awarded Superior Gold at the Tokyo Whisky & Spirits Competition 2026.
The new Majestic listing represents an important step in making Derbyshire’s first single malt whisky more accessible to customers beyond the distillery, while maintaining strong connections to its home county.
Max Vaughan, co-Founder of White Peak Distillery, said: “This regional Majestic listing for Wire Works Caduro is brilliant news for the distillery.
“In 2026, we mark 10 years since founding the business and, as a small independent producer, we’ve been humbled by the recognition we’ve received along the way.
“To see our whisky stocked by a retailer with Majestic’s reputation and reach is a fantastic way to celebrate our first decade.
“We’re particularly pleased that the listing includes stores in Derby, Chesterfield and Ashbourne, close to where our whisky is made, and we’re looking forward to working closely with the Majestic teams.”
