Quiz raises thousands for cancer charity
Developer Clowes Developments has raised thousands of pounds for a cancer charity from a quiz evening.
Earlier this month, more than 250 guests descended on Derby County’s Pride Park Stadium for the event in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
Macmillan was named the firm’s chosen charity for 2025-26 in memory of company founder Charles Clowes, who passed nearly 11 years ago, and colleague Paul Turner, who passed away at the start of 2025.

An impressive £5,831.06 was raised on the night, which will aid Macmillan’s vital work supporting people affected by cancer across the UK.
As well as the quiz itself, money was also raised from a raffle, with prizes generously donated by local businesses.
Olly Larkin, relationship fundraising manager at Macmillan Cancer Support, said: “The Clowes Charity Quiz was a truly inspiring evening. I am incredibly moved by the generosity and compassion shown by everyone who attended or donated.
“To raise over £5,831.06 in one night is fantastic, and we cannot thank Clowes Developments enough for choosing to support Macmillan in such a meaningful way over the last year.”
