Olympic hero Adam gives youngsters a swimming masterclass
Olympic gold medallist and world record holder Adam Peaty OBE has been giving children from Embark Federation’s schools a swimming masterclass – with support from Repton School and HUUB.

Forty-five youngsters from Embark’s schools took part in the session, which was held at Repton’s Sports Centre.
Designed to inspire, challenge and celebrate participation, the masterclass offered a unique opportunity for young people to experience elite level coaching in a professional sporting environment.
The session began with an Q&A session with Adam, where the children asked questions about his training regime, the challenges he has overcome, and how his swimming journey began.
They then took part in a swimming masterclass, delivered by the coaching team at Repton School.
The session focused on technique and skill development, with coaches providing expert guidance and encouragement throughout.

It then concluded with a series of races, giving every participant the opportunity to compete.
Matthew Crawford, trust leader at Embark Federation, said: “Days like this perfectly capture what Embark is all about.
“Providing our children and young people with opportunities that inspire, challenge and build confidence is incredibly important to us.
“Seeing them learn from world class athletes, support one another and take pride in their achievements was truly special. We are immensely proud of everyone who took part.”
Embark Federation said it would like to extend its thanks to Repton School for the use of its facilities, as well as to the coaching staff and lifeguards who ensured the event ran safely and smoothly.
Its thanks also go to Dean Jackson MBE, from HUUB, who generously provided every participant with a swim bag containing a HUUB swim cap and goggles.
