Collaboration delivers practical tips to start-ups

Ascentant Accountancy has collaborated with University of Derby to deliver a practical new programme for start-ups.

The Business Builder, delivered by Ascentant’s Adrian Peck, is designed to help students turn their ideas into a real business.

It provides clear, step-by-step guidance on everything from choosing the right business structure and managing finances to marketing, pricing and building confidence when talking about what you do.

Each workshop, held at the university’s Cavendish Building, is focused on real-world challenges faced by anyone starting out.

Samantha Deakin, the university’s head of enterprise, said: “We’re so pleased to be delivering this workshop series for start-ups in partnership with Ascentant.

“It’s vital that our entrepreneurial community have access to the information, space, and support they need to make their ideas happen, and our industry partners are key to the success of the Game Changer Lab and our incubated start-ups.”
