A documentary produced by AV IT Media for East Midlands Railway telling the story of an iconic train has won a national award.

The film, which features archive footage, new imagery and interviews with numerous EMR staff who worked on and with the HST, won gold in the Best Use of Video from the Transport and Logistics Sector at the recently held Lens Awards 2022.

The awards celebrate creativity and innovation in corporate film, storytelling, and visual communications.

AV IT, which has been working with EMR ever since its franchise started in 2018, was commissioned by the train operator to produce the documentary to mark the retirement of the much-loved HST’s after 39 years of service on the Midland Main Line.

At the time, EMR said it was determined to recognise such a historic moment and provide the opportunity for people to speak about what the HSTs meant to them, and how they impacted on their career and lives on the railway.
