Marketing Peak District & Derbyshire has welcomed a new patron in the form of an award-winning wine merchant.

Hattersley Wines, which is based in Bakewell, has pledged its support to the area’s official destination management organisation.

The business was recently crowned UK Small Independent Wine Merchant of the Year and Central England Wine Merchant of the Year at the 2022 International Wine Challenge Awards.

Marketing Peak District & Derbyshire aims to grow the area’s visitor economy and promote the Peak District and Derbyshire as a world-class tourism destination. Existing patrons include the Devonshire Group.

Managing director Jo Dilley said: “Our patrons are a core network of organisations who want to get behind us and share their collective expertise to champion the delivery of effective destination marketing for the area.

“Ensuring visitors and residents can enjoy fantastic food and drink experiences is fundamentally important to our visitor economy and the sector’s recovery and future growth.

“We look forward to working with Hattersley Wines and drawing on their experience and enthusiasm to help strengthen the destination, making it an even better place to live, work and visit.”
