Sustainable tech firm delivers environmental boost

Sustainable technology solutions firm Circulayo has revealed it has so far helped prevent more than 30,000kg of carbon emissions.

Since it was founded in 2021, the firm has been working with businesses across Derby to swap single-use packaging for smart, reusable alternatives.

According to the firm, it has resulted in 740,638 single-use products being avoided, 32,149kg of carbon emissions prevented, 14,812kg of single-use plastic waste prevented and more than £100,000 in cost savings for businesses.

The UK discards around seven million disposable cups every day, a major contributor to plastic pollution and rising carbon emissions.

Single-use packaging also adds pressure on local councils and businesses with escalating disposal costs.

But according to Circulayo, change is underway in Derby – with an increasing number of businesses switching to reusable packaging powered by smart reuse technology.

They include Derby LIVE, Vaillant Live, Derby County and Down to Earth.

Using Circulayo’s system, businesses are transforming reusable packaging into touchpoints for engagement.

With AppNostic, customers can scan QR codes to access eco-rewards and return points, while behind the scenes, Circulayo’s Flow Platform tracks reuses, stock levels and environmental savings in real time.

With these insights, businesses can precisely measure their impact and create reports that showcase transparency and accountability.

By analysing the data, they can identify opportunities to enhance their reuse and sustainability efforts, enabling more confident, informed decisions.
