Shopping centre invites families to get active

Derbion is inviting families to get active this summer with a new series of free, interactive sessions.

The centre will be running ‘Get Active’ sessions from Monday 27 July to Sunday 2 August, when families can enjoy free, fun-filled workshops such as padel with Social Sports Society, mini ramp sessions with Flo Skatepark, football, cricket and more.

Activities include games with Derbyshire County Cricket Club and a penalty shootout for Derbion’s charity of the year Over The Wall Camp.

Beth McDonald, managing director of Derbion, said: “We’re delighted to announce our new Get Active sessions here at Derbion.

“From padel and skateboarding to football and more, it’s set to be a jam-packed week of activities that we hope will encourage children and their families to discover some new sports this summer and have plenty of fun.

“We’re the only shopping centre in the UK to offer padel courts and a skatepark together under one roof, and alongside Hollywood Bowl, Paradise Island Adventure Golf and Showcase Cinema de Lux we’re incredibly proud of our unique leisure mix that makes a wide range of activities accessible to all.”
