Repton School has invested in its facilities with the opening of a new café and collaborative workspace for students and staff.

Cloisters 1557 is set beneath Pears School, which is one of the most historic parts of the Repton campus.

Nestled within the cloisters and overlooking the Garth and the Paddock, the school said, “the thoughtfully designed space blends tradition with modernity”.

Founded in 1557, Repton School is a leading co-educational boarding and day school for pupils aged 13 to 18.

In a statement, the school said: “Open to staff and Sixth Form pupils as a dedicated workspace during free periods – and welcoming the wider pupil body at break times and for school events, Cloisters 1557 sits at the very heart of school life.

“An inspiring setting beneath the arch, it is a wonderful new facility for our whole community to enjoy.”
