Rail firm selects Corolla

A specialist rail and infrastructure services provider has signed a deal to replace its fleet of vehicles with vans made by Toyota Motor Manufacturing in Derbyshire.

Readypower Group will replace its fleet of diesel vehicles with 45 hybrid electric Toyota Corolla Commercial vans, which are derived from the Corolla Touring Sports passenger car.

The vehicles, which are built at Toyota’s Burnaston plant, will be used by the company’s engineers to support clients across the country.

Neil Broad, general manager of Toyota Fleet Services, said: “Our Corolla Commercial enjoys a unique position, being the only full petrol hybrid electric van available in the UK market.

“Its efficient hybrid system is self-charging, so businesses do not have to factor in vehicle downtime for recharging.

“This makes it a practical and attractive proposition for customers who are not yet in a position to adopt fully electric vehicles.”
