New membership card breaks down barriers
Chatsworth House, part of the Devonshire Group has launched an innovative scheme, which allows library members to borrow a free pass to access the venue.
Chatsworth House Trust has teamed up with Derbyshire County Council to offer Community Membership Cards.
It gives library members the opportunity to borrow a free Chatsworth pass from 10 participating libraries across the county this summer.

Launched in support of the National Year of Reading, the pilot scheme is designed to bring new visitors to Chatsworth by removing barriers to access, while encouraging the use of local libraries and supporting the benefits of reading for pleasure and wellbeing.
Each pass offers seven days of free access to the house, garden, farmyard and adventure playground for up to two adults and six children.
The initiative coincides with Chatsworth’s current exhibition, House of Stories: Tales from the Chatsworth Library, which features significant literary treasures from the Devonshire Collections.
