Land deal shows market buoyancy

BB&J Commercial has announced it has completed the sale of land in a Derbyshire town earmarked for new housing.

The firm has sold the 0.24-acre site in Ripley, which is to the rear of the former Hippodrome with frontage onto the high street.

Under the proposed scheme, the plans indicate that there will be a pair of semi-detached dwellings, along with terraced properties.

With the site having planning in place and ready to go, BB&J said that it attracted a lot of interest and was snapped up by a developer.

Partner Mark Richardson said: “The appetite for land remains strong, whether it is residential or commercial.

“With planning in place, this was an ‘oven-ready’ scheme, and these are always popular as developers can get straight onto site and build out quickly.

“With our track record of getting land deals, we are constantly on the lookout for more sites to sell and will be bringing another local exciting opportunity to market very soon.”
