Hockey star appointed at Repton

Repton School is to appoint a former captain of the Great Britain team as its new director of hockey.

Experienced coach Adam Dixon will take up his new post this September.

A former England and Great Britain captain, in his playing career Adam racked up nearly 300 international appearances, scored 22 international goals, won a European title and appeared at the Olympics.

With 49 national hockey titles, Repton continues to cement its reputation as the UK hockey powerhouse for both boys and girls.

Adam said: “I’m thrilled to join Repton this September and will be proud to help them continue their incredible achievements as a school and as a young club.

“I know first-hand what hockey can do for a person’s character and have been honoured to have some life-changing experiences through this amazing sport.”

Headmaster Mark Semmence said: “While it was clearly among the most hotly contested job opportunities in school sport, Adam stood out in the remarkable field.

“We are so pleased to have him join us at Repton and know that his appointment secures the brightest of futures for our already world-renowned programme.”
