Tech firm DNS is urging businesses to take action ahead of the 2027 switch-off of ISDN and PSTN phone lines.

BT is set to decommission all traditional landline services by the end of 2027, affecting any business still using ISDN, PSTN, or analogue devices like fax machines, card payment systems, or lift emergency lines.

DNS is warning that failure to prepare could lead to service disruption and increased costs.

Sales director Hugh Sutherland said: “This change will impact more businesses than many realise.

“Even if you’ve already moved to VoIP, now is the ideal time to review your telecoms setup and ensure it’s delivering what your business needs.”

To help local companies prepare, DNS is offering a complimentary phone system audit to all Derby-based business owners.

The audit will identify whether your systems are at risk, review current telecoms contracts and functionality and recommend future-ready solutions such as VoIP, unified communications, dashboards and AI transcription tools.
