Clowes Developments has launched a new initiative which aims to promote wellbeing in the workplace.

The firm has appointed two of its employees, Liz Pugh and Louise Lavender, as Mental Health First Aiders.

Since Clowes recently partnered with Derbyshire Mind, which was chosen by staff as the firm’s charity for the year, the business has embraced a number of wellbeing initiatives.

Liz and Louise are both fully trained and qualified mental health first aiders, acting as a point of contact for any employee who is experiencing a mental health issue or emotional distress.

Liz said: “According to the Mental Health Foundation, almost 15% of people experience mental health problems in the workplace.

“Evidence suggests that over 12% of all sickness absence days in  the UK can be attributed to mental health conditions.

“At Clowes we want to create a safe environment where our people can flourish and feel supported in times of emotional distress.”
