Corolla named best used hatchback again

A car built at Toyota Motor Manufacturing UK’s Derbyshire plant has been named the best used hatchback at national awards.

The Corolla, which is built at the carmaker’s Burnaston site, was awarded the Built in Britain Used Hatchback of the Year title at the What Car? Used Car of the Year Awards.

The model, which this year is celebrating its 60th anniversary, is a repeat winner of the award.

What Car? described the Corolla as a “terrific family car that’s good to drive, well-built and generously equipped.”

Comfort, practicality and the “impressive economy” of its hybrid powertrain were also highlighted. 

The judges’ said: “The clincher is that the Corolla is such excellent value for money when bought used, undercutting many of its far less sophisticated rivals.”
