Construction and development giant Bowmer + Kirkland Group has completed a deal for a £40 million turnover office fit-out specialist.

The Derbyshire-based firm, which is behind major projects in Derby, including Vaillant Live and Derby Arena has strengthened its interiors capability with the acquisition of Denton, which has offices in Manchester, Liverpool and London.

Denton, which this year celebrates 30 years in business, delivers CAT A, CAT A+ and CAT B office fit-outs for clients nationwide.

With the backing of Bowmer + Kirkland – one of the UK’s largest privately owned construction and development groups – Denton is set to expand its reach and take on more complex and large-scale projects.

Jack Kirkland, chairman of Bowmer + Kirkland, said: “We are delighted to welcome Denton into the Bowmer + Kirkland Group.

“Their track record of growth, creativity and client focus makes them a natural fit with our values.

“Together, we can expand opportunities, deliver larger and more ambitious projects, and continue to raise standards in office design and fit-out.”

Under its new ownership, the company will continue to operate under the Denton brand with its existing leadership team, while benefiting from the scale, resources and stability of the Bowmer + Kirkland Group.

Mike Halewood, founder of Denton, said: “This is a hugely exciting new chapter for Denton.

“Being acquired by Bowmer + Kirkland Group gives us the scale and stability to deliver even greater value for our clients – while keeping our commitment to design excellence, responsible operations and creating workplaces that support health, wellbeing and collaboration.”

Law firm Flint Bishop advised Bowmer + Kirkland on the deal.

The transaction was led by partner and head of corporate, Martyn Brierley, and partner Mark Wilcock, with additional expertise provided by Janet Rhodes, Haroon Younis, Joseph Weston, Robert Devine and Jessica Ryan-Dawkins from Flint Bishop’s real estate, commercial, corporate and employment teams.

Martyn said: “We are delighted to have advised Bowmer + Kirkland on their latest strategic acquisition.

“Denton is a fantastic addition to the group, and it was a pleasure to once again support the business as it continues to grow and diversify.

“Congratulations to all involved on a successful transaction.”
