Business park extension to bring almost 700 new jobs

Hundreds of new jobs are set to be created after planning permission was granted to extend a Derbyshire business park.

The green light has been given to Garner Holdings to create three new industrial buildings at Denby Hall Business Park.

The buildings will provide a new production facility for Garner Aluminium Extrusions, a new warehouse for HL Plastics and a new production facility for LB Plastics.

The buildings will be served by more than 400 parking spaces.

Combined, the companies currently employ 700 people. The extension of the business park, which covers 16 hectares, will create a further 680 new jobs in the first five years.

The granting of outline planning permission comes after a successful appeal following a Public Inquiry where it was demonstrated that very special circumstances existed for development within the Green Belt, including the economic benefits of significant job creation and retention.

Garner Holdings was supported in its application by Planning and Design Practice.

In a statement, Planning and Design Practice said: “Planning and Design Practice is delighted that outline planning permission with all matters other than access, for an extension to Denby Hall Business Park has been granted following a positive appeal decision.

“The successful appeal, following a Public Inquiry, is one of the largest permissions of its kind, which will help create jobs and boost the local economy of Amber Valley.”
