Bondholders urged to help make Broadway dream a reality

Nadia Jane Performing Arts is calling on fellow Marketing Derby Bondholders to help make its students’ dream of performing on Broadway a reality.

The dance studio, which is based in Green Lane, has been offered a golden opportunity for its young performers to showcase their dance skills on a New York stage.

However, due to the personal circumstances of some of the dancers, they cannot afford the trip.

Now, founder Nadia Jane is appealing to the Bondholder community for sponsorship to help ensure all her students can seize this life-changing opportunity.

Nadia said: “Performing on Broadway is something that many professional dancers dream about but never get the opportunity – but now we need to raise the money to get us all there.”

Many Bondholders will remember the dance group’s energetic performance at Marketing Derby’s recent Annual Business Event, which took place at Derby Theatre.

The memorable performance formed part of Nadia’s Dare to Dream presentation, in which she explained how Nadia Jane Performing Arts had evolved into a safe haven, particularly for young people, providing them with a place where they could overcome social and mental health issues.

Her speech was then followed by the dance performance – and since the event, Nadia said she had been overwhelmed by the response to her students’ dazzling display.

She said: “I would like to say thank you for all the positive feedback we have received through e-mails and social channels. I have read every single one to our dancers.

“So far, we have been overwhelmed with offers to help us achieve our dream.

“However, there remains a couple of dancers – who performed at the Annual Business Event – who, due to their personal background, cannot afford the trip.”

Nadia Jane Performing Arts is now looking for Bondholders to sponsor its dancers.

It is looking to raise £1,500 per person – and Nadia would welcome companies who could provide either all £1,500 or any fee they can contribute towards its overall fundraising target of £10,000.

The money would go towards covering the cost of the America trip, rehearsal classes, uniforms and the correct dance shoes.

In exchange, Nadia Jane can offer regular appearances at company events, such as awards nights.

It is also offering tailored dance sessions for things like staff development days or to help with team bonding.

And it can also create and choreograph Tik Tock / Instagram reels for your company.

Companies who pledge support will also be advertised by the dance group in the UK and when it is performing on Broadway.

Marketing Derby has already set the ball rolling by agreeing to contribute £1,500 to fully support a member of the group.

Managing director John Forkin said: “We are delighted to support one of the dance team visiting New York.

“Nadia and her colleagues provided a moment to remember at our Annual Business Event last month, essentially stealing the show. We believe they will do the same this summer in Broadway.”

Speaking about the US trip, Nadia said: “For some of our children this experience will be life changing.”
