The founder of Ask the Chameleon is urging fellow Bondholders to get behind a rowing club’s fundraising campaign.

Rachel Hayward, founder of the specialist procurement consultancy, is backing Trent Rowing Club’s push to raise cash to create a new ‘boat barn’.

She is supporting the cause in memory of her late father, John Hayward, who was the club’s president for more than 35 years.

To raise cash, the club has organised the Trent Duck Race. Taking place on Saturday 4 April, it will see sponsored ducks race down the River Trent.

Funds raised will help build a new boat barn and training space, enabling the club to expand access to rowing and community sport.

The campaign has received a major boost after securing conditional match funding of up to £15,000 from the Sport England Movement Fund, meaning every pound raised through the Duck Race and Crowdfunder could be doubled.

Rachel said: “Securing Sport England match funding is a huge vote of confidence in what the club is trying to achieve.

“This is about investing in opportunity, community and long-term impact and ensuring my dad’s legacy of opening doors for young people continues.”
