Bondholders urged to back new music festival
Dubrek Studios and Culture Derby are calling on fellow Marketing Derby Bondholders to back a new city-wide music festival planned for later this year, which will showcase emerging talent.
Taking place in September, ‘Invention’ will be held across multiple venues across the city centre, including Dubrek, Derby Museums’ Museum of Making and Down to Earth’s Electric Daisy.
As well as giving local talent the opportunity to play alongside nationally known acts, Invention also aims to showcase music venues across the city.
Backed by Culture Derby and the Music Venue Trust, the one-day festival hopes to engage over 2,000 people.

Now, organisers are looking for sponsorship for the festival to cover costs, including lighting and sound systems, promotion and the production management of the festival itself.
Jay Dean, director at Dubrek Studios, who is leading on the project, said: “We’re really excited about putting on this festival – but we need more sponsors to make it happen.
“This is a great opportunity to boost Derby’s nighttime economy and raise the cultural profile of the city. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.”
There are a range of sponsorship packages available, including branding and stage sponsorship.
