A golf day backed by a number of Marketing Derby Bondholders has raised more than £17,000 for YMCA Derbyshire.

Recently held at Chevin Golf Club, the event saw 27 teams take the course and raise cash to support the charity’s work to transform the lives of young people and communities in need across Derby and Derbyshire.

Money raised will go directly into YMCA Derbyshire’s Changing Lives Fund, which allows the charity to provide mental health support, diversionary and horticulture activities, training and work-based programmes.

Grace Harrison, director of development at YMCA Derbyshire, said: “Seeing so many businesses, supporters and partners come together for our YMCA Derbyshire Golf Day was incredibly special.

“To raise more than £17,000 for our Changing Lives Fund is an amazing achievement and will make a real difference to young people and communities across Derbyshire.

“At a time when many people are facing significant challenges, these funds will help us continue providing vital mental health support, wellbeing activities, training, and opportunities that enable people to move forward positively.

“We are hugely grateful to everyone who supported the day and helped make such a meaningful impact.”
