Bondholders believe Sam’s new app is a cut above the rest

A new app launched by Barba, which allows users to book a barber to their own home or workplace, is going down a storm with fellow Marketing Derby Bondholders.

The app was created by entrepreneur Sam Lowe who sees Barba as the deliveroo for barbering.

Barba for Business was launched in April offering haircuts in the workplace as a staff incentive.

And the service is proving a big hit with clients, which include a number of Bondholders.

Brett Critchley, executive chairman of Bam Boom Cloud, said: “Having the pleasure of meeting Sam and spending some time with him I was blown away by his Barba app.

“The simplicity and ease of use shouldn’t be underestimated by the time and effort that’s gone into building it.

“Our team at Bam Boom will be using the Barba app to organise their haircuts at work at a time that’s convenient for them. Super slick and super impressive.”

Adam Bamford, co-founder and chief operating officer at Colleague Box, said: “Absolutely love this from Sam Lowe. A simple business idea made into a reality with the use of technology.

“A haircut and a beard trim at work at my convenience, with no restrictions on services…class!”

Bev Wakefield, director at Vibrant Accountancy, which is Barba’s accountant, said: “We’re looking forward to growing alongside Barba – and are enjoying its services too.

“While having the kids over half-term we had the barber out, and we’re looking forward to the beauticians being in our offices for a little pamper too!”

Barba is the UK’s first fully mobile barbering app, allowing people to browse, book and pay with one of a number of approved barbers.

Companies can buy a package of treatments on behalf of their employees and use them as perks and rewards for their hard work and wellbeing.

Barba is available in Derby and Nottingham city centre for now, with plans to expand to the rest of the UK in the near future.

Sam also has plans to launch a sister app, which will allow users to book beauticians.

The idea was dreamed up in the midst of lockdown after a family friend introduced him to the world of barbering and he saw opportunity.

He said: “You can have everything delivered to you nowadays, making everything easy -apart from getting your haircut!

“Travel, queues and cash makes going to the barbers a nightmare – we just bring everything to you.”
