Cricket club scores big water savings with HSG tech

Derbyshire County Cricket Club has revealed it has reduced its water usage, costs and impact on the environment since installing technology from HSG UK.

The club says it is thanks to the firm’s ongoing installation of the innovative Ureco washroom water conservation system at its Incora County Ground.

The HSG team surveyed the site and calculated the positive benefits of installing 26 Ureco units, alongside nine Uretech water management systems across the ground.

Calculations showed that by installing the Ureco system the club would benefit from significantly reduced water usage, cost savings in utility and repair bills and would make a major contribution to reducing the ground’s carbon footprint.

Since the original installation in 2018, the club has used 9.6 million litres less water, reduced carbon emissions by 10.17 tonnes and saved more than £24,000 in utility and repair bills.

Commercial manager Jimmy Drew said: “Maintaining high standards is just as important in the washrooms as it is in the presentation of our corporate facilities, the quality of our catering and, of course, the results on the pitch.

“Our club has been embedded in the fabric of the county for just over 150 years and we were delighted to be able to work with Derby company HSG to achieve these savings, which is an important part of increasing environmental sustainability at the Incora County Ground.”
