Sky’s the limit as recruitment firm continues expansion

Sky Recruitment Solutions, along with its sister company Capella Professional, has announced multiple staff hires and new office locations as business continues to boom.

The firm, which has its head office in Derby, as well as sites in Ripley and Huddersfield, announced in February that it would be launching a new office in Burton.

The firm, which specialises in providing personnel for industrial roles, has now announced two more new office locations, in Mansfield and a second site in Huddersfield. Specific sites are yet to be revealed.

The company has also recruited three new team members in the past month and is looking to take on additional staff as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, Sky Recruitment Solutions' sister company Capella, which specialises in white-collar recruitment, has also recruited a new staff member for its office in Nottingham city centre, with plans to hire more this year.

Managing director David Torrington said: “I’m proud to say that business is booming – the news is all good and it keeps getting better.

“We’ve been very lucky to have such great clients who, most importantly, operate across a wide variety of sectors. So, if one sector is quiet, another has usually been thriving.

“As daft as it sounds, despite the pandemic, our plan was always to just go for it, be ambitious, confident and forward-thinking – and it’s paid off.

“We felt the recruitment market was going to pick up and it has, so we were ahead of the game.”

New recruits at Sky Recruitment Solutions include recruitment consultant Emma Haydon at the firm’s Ripley branch, Kirsty Jackman, resourcer at the Derby office, and Shane Callaghan, business manager for Sky’s Huddersfield site.

Amy Crompton-Smith has joined Capella Professional as its new consultant.

The new signings mean the group’s workforce has expanded to 20 staff – up from 14 at the beginning of this year. It is estimated that the figure will increase to 30 staff before the end of the year.
