Developer Wavensmere Homes has hailed the success of its virtual viewing service at its Nightingale Quarter development.

The technology is being used to market properties in the second phase of the scheme, which involves building hundreds of homes on the former Derbyshire Royal Infirmary site.

Phase one of the scheme is sold out and now, with the help of virtual viewings, Wavensmere Homes expects the same for the second phase in the next few months.

The developer has reported that more than 20 sales were made over the winter period from virtual appointments.

Working with estate agent Ashley Adams, buyers have used the bespoke virtual viewing technology, which offers a virtual walk around the whole site.

Buyers are able to talk to a dedicated sales advisor at a convenient time for them, with reservations taken virtually.

Donna Smith, sales director at Wavensmere Homes, said: “We are simply delighted with the response we have received from the public during the last couple of months.

“The fact that so many buyers have bought through the new ‘remote’ way of purchasing is testament to the high-quality marketing material that we are able to present to the purchasers.

“It’s very exciting to see how the public have embraced the modern method of selling.

“It’s not always easy to buy a property without seeing a finished product but we are delighted that so many buyers have chosen to purchase at Nightingale Quarter using this method.”

According to Wavensmere Homes, the first completions are set for March, along with the launch of one of the newly restored Victorian Pepper Pot buildings. It will include a café, gym and exhibition area.
