Bondholder Penguin PR is helping charity Annabel’s Angels after forming a new partnership via Derby Swap Shop.

Penguin PR is handling the high-profile charity’s online communications following an online business exchange on the Derby Swap Shop forum created by fellow Bondholders Ask The Chameleon, HUUB and Think3.

Set up in 2014 and run entirely by volunteers, Annabel’s Angels raises money to provide financial assistance to the families of Derby people undergoing cancer treatment, as well as to support local cancer self-help groups and other cancer-related initiatives in Derby.

It helps around 80 families each year with their living costs and raises money through grants, donations and sponsorships, as well as through its involvement in high-profile events such as the Derby 10K, Derby Half Marathon and the Derby 10 Mile road races.

Penguin PR director, Simon Burch, said: “Annabel’s Angels has made a huge difference to the lives of countless families living with cancer in Derby and we’re very much looking forward to helping them to reach out to more families and donors at what has been a very challenging time all round.

“I have known Simon Hancox, chairman of Annabel’s Angels, for a number of years and was proud to run wearing an Annabel’s Angels T-shirt for the inaugural Derby 10 Mile race a number of years ago.

“Not only am I fully aware of how much of a better runner he is than I am, I know just how hard he and his team work to raise funds for the charity in order to make life a little easier for families who are going through the toughest time imaginable.”
