Bondholder Sky Recruitment has been taking on 30 new candidates per week during the pandemic – an increase of 20 percent from pre-lockdown.

The recruitment consultancy has adapted its working practices during the Coronavirus crisis, not only to ensure it can continue running as a business, but also to make sure other companies can meet their own requirements.

It has has seen an increase in recruitment applications as people fall foul of redundancies and hardship in lockdown.

Managing Director, David Torrington, said: “It’s been tough times for everyone since lockdown began in March. As people seek other alternative employment, we have adapted the way we work to ensure we are in the prime position to help them. Likewise, several new businesses have signed up with us during lockdown, as they seek help to fulfil their recruitment needs.”

Fellow Bondholder Appletree Value Solutions' Director, Richard Robey, has also been helped by Sky Recruitment, as his son finished his 2nd year university exams and was in need of a summer job, since his arranged job working in a bar/restaurant had fallen through due to lockdown.

Richard Robey said: “As a Bondholder I felt it was a great example of helping each other. I thought I would drop David a note asking if he operated in the temporary/summer role type of recruitment. The response was quick and positive.”

David added: “As a proud Marketing Derby Bondholder since we started the business in 2014, we have always been committed to helping Derby and Derbyshire-based businesses with their recruitment requirements – and also trying our best to find work for candidates across the region. I’m delighted that we could help to secure Richard’s son work to gain some summer work, and we’d encourage any other Bondholders to contact us whether this is for their own recruitment needs, or to find work for friends and family.”

Sky Recruitment Solutions has kept 50 percent of its own workforce rather than furloughing the employees, although the rest are likely to be returning this month to optimise the opportunities the business has created, and key staff have been ensuring key clients can continue to operate.

New industrial clients have been given a guarantee that Sky Recruitment Solutions can fulfil their temporary staffing requirements within 24 hours, or get the staff free of charge.

It has also adapted its registration process during lockdown to include online registrations, with a 100 percent success rate with temporary candidates placed on assignment.

Fellow Bondholder Pennine Healthcare heads up one of the companies which has signed up with Sky Recruitment Solutions in the lockdown.

Its chief executive officer, Luke Fryer, said: “Pennine Healthcare is going through a period of unprecedented growth. We are developing our online presence to bring professional healthcare products direct to the consumer. We chose Sky Recruitment Solutions due to their knowledge in this sector and the local market.”
