Bondholders Derby College and leading wetsuit-maker HUUB have linked up to help students develop marketing and product development skills.

As a result, business students will be working with the UK's leading designers of triathlon wetsuits, apparel and accessories. They will gain valuable work experience at the company, take part in marketing and product development projects and be given a guaranteed interview at the end of their two-year course.

HUUB has won a string of industry awards for its pioneering wetsuit designs, which are worn by top athletes such as the Olympic triathletes, the Brownlee brothers, as well as celebrity triathletes Jenson Button and Gordon Ramsay.

“I am delighted to be working alongside Derby College to include business students in our marketing and product development work”
— Dean Jackson, Owner at HUUB Design

The college and company link-up joins the Derby Telegraph Media Sales Academy; Hodgkinson Brickwork Academy; Cricket Derbyshire Sports and Hospitality Academies; EPM Technology Advanced Composites Academy; and the Finesse Collection Professional Cookery Academy – with students in all those areas gaining work experience and interviews for potential future apprenticeship and job opportunities.

“We now have seven employer academies in place, which all have been identified by the local D2N2 Local Enterprise Partnership as growth areas with potential future skills shortages”
— April Hayhurst, Business Development Director at Derby College
