Two new faces have joined Marketing Derby to help raise the profile of the city and county to investors and further enhance its offer to Bondholders.

Robin Johnson and Amy Burton are the latest additions to the inward investment agency’s team, which works to attract investment to both Derby and Derbyshire.

Robin Johnson

Robin has joined the team as press and PR executive, while Amy has been appointed as inward investment executive.

Robin will already be a familiar name to many of our Bondholders as he was previously business editor at the Derby Telegraph. He spent 23 years at the newspaper, the majority of which was spent on the business desk.

During his newspaper career he won numerous national and regional industry awards for his work, including successes at the Regional Press Awards and the Midlands Media Awards. In July this year, he was named Local/Regional Journalist of the Year at the Headlinemoney Awards, which are regarded as the ‘Oscars’ of the UK financial journalism industry.

In his new role, he will help raise the profile of Bondholders, will develop and deliver Marketing Derby’s business news coverage via our website and e-shots, as well as helping promote the city and county to investors.

Robin said: “In my previous role at the Derby Telegraph, I wrote numerous stories about Marketing Derby and the tireless work the team devotes to putting this area on the investment map.

“I have long-admired their commitment and passion for all things Derby and feel this role is a perfect fit for me. I am very much looking forward to shining a light on the brilliant things being achieved by our businesses and other organisations.”

Amy Burton

Amy has more than a decade of experience in the residential property sector. She was a director at IMS Lettings when the business was taken over by Leaders in 2015 and went on to become an area manager for the company, responsible for branches in Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire.

Speaking about her new role, Amy said: “Marketing Derby is an exciting step in my career.

“The scope of what Marketing Derby produces and influences is incredible and its range of achievements are far reaching and commendable. I'm looking forward to being part of something significant in my home city.”

John Forkin, managing director of Marketing Derby, said: “I would like to welcome our two new additions.

“Robin already commands an excellent reputation among the business community and we are delighted to have him on board. He was reporting on Marketing Derby from its inception so has a good understanding of what we do here.

“Amy brings with her great knowledge of the property sector which will be of real benefit to investors and businesses as part of the services we offer to support those setting up, expanding and re-locating in the city and county.

Both of these appointments are part of our ongoing strategy to further enhance the way we assist investors, serve our Bondholders and support the city’s economic recovery.”
