Upbeat Clean

Upbeat Clean is a King’s Award-winning commercial cleaning social enterprise, owned by a Derby charity. We work with organisations across Derby and Derbyshire, from arenas and museums to offices, manufacturers and MedTech businesses, delivering high-quality commercial cleaning while creating life-changing employment opportunities.

Our team is made up of people from many different backgrounds, including many who were previously locked out of the UK job market. We pay the Real Living Wage, invest in progression and leadership, and have now provided over £1 million in salaries to our staff team, helping people build stability, confidence and a future for themselves and their families.

In 2025, Upbeat Clean received the King’s Award for Enterprise for Promoting Opportunity, becoming the first cleaning company in the UK to receive the award for changing lives through employment.

What started in Derby is now beginning to spread nationally. Our first social franchise has launched in Tees Valley, Sheffield is following, and we are working with partners in other UK cities to take the Upbeat Clean model further.
