Umbrella Derby and Derbyshire
Umbrella Derby and Derbyshire is a charity working in Derby City and South Derbyshire. Our organisation exists to support disabled children, young people, and their families, ensuring they have the opportunities, confidence, and support needed to reach their full potential. Since 1986, we have grown into a trusted provider of high‑quality, holistic services that respond to the individual needs of each family.
We work closely with health professionals, social care teams, other charities, and families to offer practical and emotional support before, during, and after diagnosis. Our goal is to empower families a trusted information, support and early intervention service, support groups, training, and wellbeing activities, while also delivering fun and inclusive opportunities and youth groups for children and young people. We also provide tailored support packages in both a group setting and individually, building independence, confidence, and daily living skills whilst also providing respite to families.
We became a Bondholder because we believe strong relationships between businesses and the charity sector can create meaningful, lasting impact in Derby. Being part of the Bondholder network allows us to connect with organisations that share our values, open up conversations around social responsibility, and explore ways we can learn from and support one another.
