Bondholders urged to help raise modern slavery awareness

Rebuild East Midlands is urging fellow Bondholders to help raise awareness of modern slavery as part of Anti-Slavery Week, which takes place next month.

The charity, which helps survivors of modern slavery rebuild their lives, has created modern slavery resources and quiz flash cards, which are available to download and help educate and engage teams.

During Anti-Slavery Week, which takes place from 12 to 18 October, Bondholders are also encouraged to organise a fundraising event or activity to raise much-needed funds that will provide practical, emotional, and community support for survivors of exploitation.

Paul McAnulty, chief executive of Rebuild East Midlands, said: “Every one of us has a role to play in creating communities where people feel seen, supported and safe.

“Through ‘Raise Awareness. Raise Hope’ businesses can use their voice to help people better understand exploitation, challenge misconceptions and help connect people with the support they need.

“When we come together around this shared purpose, we don’t just raise awareness, we offer hope and help change lives.”
