Powerful art exhibition showcases visions of hope
Children’s mental health charity Bridge the Gap has unveiled a powerful exhibition at QUAD celebrating children’s perspectives on hope, following a citywide art competition.
Young people from across the city were invited to submit artwork exploring what “hope” meant to them, with 12 winning pieces forming part of a special “Walk of Hope” showcase.
The initiative culminated in the charity’s recent inaugural Gala Dinner at Vaillant Live, where 400 guests experienced the “Walk of Hope”.
The showcase highlighted both the creativity of Derby’s young people and the importance of emotional wellbeing support.

Bridge The Gap works closely with children and families navigating complex emotional challenges, providing early intervention and ongoing support.
Nikki Webster, director at Bridge The Gap, said: “We see children every day who are trying their very best to understand big feelings in a world that can feel overwhelming.
“This competition gave them a voice and what they shared was inspiring.”
All submitted artwork, including the winning pieces, will be on public display at QUAD until Sunday 30 August.
