Jurassic larks help raise cash for kids’ charity

Cedar + Co and Over The Wall Camp have been reflecting on a successful fundraising push, which took place during a family friendly dinosaur event at Derbion.

Over the Easter holidays, the shopping centre played host to several lifelike animatronic dinosaurs.

As well as enjoying the dinosaurs, youngsters went digging for dinosaur bones, tried their luck on the tombola and enjoyed some colouring fun.

Cedar + Co has selected Over The Wall Camp as its chosen charity for the year and helped collect money at the event.

The charity provides life-changing residential camps and programmes for children and young people living with serious illnesses and health challenges, giving them the chance to build confidence, independence and friendships in a safe, medically supported environment.

It is currently gearing up to stage its first summer camp at its new home at the former Ockbrook School.

Jennifer Sparks, marketing and business development executive at Cedar + Co, said: “It was a really great day and wonderful to see so many families getting involved.

“There was such a fantastic atmosphere throughout the event, from the colouring activities and tombola to the fossil dig and, of course, the dinosaurs.

“We are incredibly proud to be supporting Over The Wall Camp and events like this show just how much fun fundraising can be.”
