As part of an ongoing transformation of its Derbion store, Boots has further invested in enhancing its facilities.

The new Boots Opticians service offers improved services, including optomap as part of their Ultimate Eye Test, which can help detect signs of serious conditions such as diabetes and hypertension.

Alongside optomap, the store will offer OCT advanced eye scans, NHS and private eye tests, contact lens fittings plus a wide range of own brand and designer frames.

Boots Hearingcare is also open in-store earlier this week, with a VR experience room and an express wall for customers to learn about hearing protection and accessories.

The investment into the store on Level 1 and its reconfiguration forms part of Derbion’s preparations for the arrival of Primark in 2027.

It is set to undergo further transformation in the coming months as the project progresses.

Beth McDonald, managing director at Derbion, said: “It’s fantastic to be able offer our visitors enhanced healthcare services through Boots’ new Opticians, Hearing Care and Pharmacy facilities.

“The newly configured space is a result of our close collaboration with Boots and forms part of our wider development programme ahead of Primark’s opening next year.”
